Summer Research Opportunities:
(FYI, these external NSF REU and NASA options are VERY competitive, I suggest building up experience and credentials with an initial summer and/or semester of faculty-mentored research with a Marist faculty member – the two lower options)
-NSF REUs (Research Experiences for Undergraduates), and similar: Searchable national database: https://www.pathwaystoscience.org/Undergrads.aspx
-NASA Summer Programs: placements across the country https://intern.nasa.gov/
Marist faculty-mentored research
-Marist-student-only undergraduate research grants (research w/ Marist faculty): ~8-week cohort: ~$3000 to $5000 stipends
-Faculty mentored, self-developed summer research (externally funded): Polgar Grants, etc. – MANY OPTIONS! – setup a meeting with Dr. Z to learn about other grant options you could apply to to fund your own research interests – stipends ranging from ~$1500 to $8000 – the earlier you come to me with your interests, the better!
-Huyck Preserve Summer Internships in the Catskills:
-visit Career Services on campus, you can search for local internships through their exclusive Marist-only database, FoxQuest: https://www.marist.edu/academic-resources/career-services/students/internship
-speak with Dr. Feldman in our department, he is the official internship coordinator for ENSC and is happy to help!
